Valentine's Day - The Red Shoes

I am often seen with scarlet lipstick and nails the colour of London buses. I find red a very practical colour – my mobile phone for example is bright red so I don’t have to search my bag long to find it. And my favourite possession of all is my little red Mini.

However, I do have a red-free zone: my shoe rack! In my not inconsiderable collection of shoes there are many colours to be found, from electric-blue platforms to silver snakeskin strappies to cute yellow ballet pumps, but the colour red is strangely absent.

I have many pieces of red jewellery (sadly no rubies but lots of beads and bangles) – they spice up many a winter outfit – so what stops me going for a pair of cherry-red strappy sandals? If I really think about it – there’s no good reason. So this Valentine’s Day I’m going to be bold and rock some red shoes with my new cream chiffon dress! Now only one question remains – wedges or stilettos?
