Fitting consultant Ladies / Men
The correct fitting decides whether a person feels comfortable in his or her shoes or not. A shoe with the right fit should prevent feet from getting tired and enable comfortable walking and standing. Shoes are the one piece of clothing, where a perfect fit is of particular importance. Why do shoes turn out differently?
- Depending on each individual manufacturer, different lasts are used for manufacturing shoes. This is the reason why at DEICHMANN, the exact length and width of all shoes is measured. To get your perfect fitting, you should always use our measuring template for determining your correct size.
- Please order the size, which has been read by our measuring template, as the appropriate toe size spacing of the toes has already been taken into account. Adding the sentence “This shoe turns out big/small”, we point out shoes, which either turn out big or small. Please note our recommendation for your order. Different measurements are used depending on the manufacturer. Please use our conversion table if you require any German measurements to be converted into cm or British or American sizes.
- Inside the shoe, the foot is held in the ball area. If as shoe is too wide, the foot slides to the front and flaps at the back, if it is too narrow, it will pinch. The pictogram provided for all shoes, will state the foot width, for which the individual shoe is suited. (dark blue = well suited)
- Slim foot:
Pointed shoes, lace-up shoes or slim slippers; - Wide feet:
Lace-up shoes, wide shapes or shoes in special widths; - High instep:
Lace-up shoes, shoes with Velcro closing, slipper with elastic, as well as low-cut pumps or ballerinas; - Insoles:
Shoes in special width, lace-up shoes or shoes with removable cover sole - What should be considered when trying shoes on?
If possible, you should try shoes on in the early afternoon, as feet slightly swell in the evening which would make them too loose in the morning. If you in contrast try shoes in the morning, they might pinch in the evening. Take you time to wear your shoes in. This should be done briefly on a carpeted floor, then changing to a hard floor covering. Use a shoehorn when putting on your shoes to avoid stepping down the heel. A stepped down heel will alter the fitting quality of your shoes.
